So Low are beyond ecstatic to announce the first ever Scottish live performance by Australia’s iconoclastic Severed Heads.
Friday October 28th – 20.30 – late. Doors will open at 20.30 and there will then be an exclusive screening of some of Severed Heads pioneering video work at 21.00, so please arrive early if you want to see that. Support will be provided by So Low djs and then Severed Heads will perform around 22.00 (with additional live video presentation) so that those who are travelling for this and have to get last trains / buses can get home. Afterwards there will be a So Low party until late.
Advance tickets are available from Tickets Scotland and will be £12. Tickets on the door will be £15. We are sorry we can’t do our usual unemployed lower price for this event but even if it sells out this will in all probability just break even. There will be no guest list.
Severed Heads need no introduction, but for those who are not familiar with their work, go investigate now! Formed in Sydney in 1979, they are true originators and as influential in electronic music to some as Kraftwerk are to others. Wildly ahead of the curve with regard to technological innovations as well as being video pioneers, they have a vast and deep back catalogue that ranges from early dissonant electronics through to their later perfect pop phase. They once had a top ten hit in Australia too. This will in all likelihood be their only ever performance here and is something one particular member of the So Low collective has dreamed of happening for 30 years. Who says dreams don’t come true?
For those unfamiliar with So Low, JD Twitch, Lorelei, Percy & Trix will play Dark Waves / Cold Waves / Minimal Synthesis / Maximal Industrial / Lo-Nrg / Forgotten Flemish Goth Bands, Teutonic Apocalyptic Beats +++
